Phoenix Motorcyclist Dies After Striking Vehicle

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a collision that left a motorcycle rider dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 14, 2024, around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of 43rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road regarding a collision involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they located 22-year-old Chase Nunez, with serious injuries. Fire personnel attempted life saving measures, but Nunez did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The other vehicle involved remained on scene.

Detectives believe that the vehicle involved in the collision was eastbound on Happy Valley Road making a left turn at 43rd Avenue when it was struck by the motorcycle driven by Nunez which was westbound on Happy Valley Road. Speed is possibly a factor in this collision.

Charging decisions on this collision will be made after the accident reconstruction process is complete.
