Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a central Phoenix shooting that left a man dead and another facing murder charges.
On June 9, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to a home in the area of 12th Street and Garfield Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, identified as 37-year-old Tracy Walker, with at least one gunshot wound. Walker was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. During the initial response to the home, officers located and detained another adult male, identified as 24-year-old Calyveion Hendrix, who was said to have been the shooter.
Hendrix was interviewed by detectives about this incident and made admissions to being responsible for the shooting. He was ultimately booked into jail for murder. No other suspects are believed to be involved in this incident.
