On Monday evening, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in Seligman for a report by a man of gunshots fired. With little information on the reported incident, the deputies contacted the reporting party when they arrived in the area. He stated that when the the deputies arrived in the area, they should be able to hear the gunshots.

As deputies were planning to approach the property, a second caller to 911 reported that a person had been shot at the same location where the deputies currently were. The injured person turned out to be the original caller. Deputies immediately entered the property where the home was located, and observed a suspect, 66-year-old Frank Ross, standing near a vehicle. He would not obey verbal commands and was detained. Deputies then found the victim, who had originally reported the incident, inside the residence and began rendering aid. He appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives’ interviews found that the victim lived on the same property as Ross but in different residences. It was reported that there had been an altercation between the victim and the suspect earlier in the day, with the suspect allegedly firing rounds into the victim’s residence causing critical gunshot wounds.

The victim was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center. The victim was in critical condition and was scheduled to undergo surgery. His current status is unknown.

Ross was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County jail on numerous felonies including attempted homicide.
