Phoenix Family Fight Turns Deadly

Phoenix Police detectives have arrested 18-year-old Camron Greenwood for shooting and killing his stepfather after an argument in their north Phoenix home.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just before 10:30 p.m., officers were called to a shooting incident at 1431 East Cheryl Drive. As officers got to the apartment complex, they contacted 18-year-old Greenwood and a witness on scene. During the search of the apartment, 39-year-old Eugena Smith was located suffering from a gunshot wound. Fire personnel responded and provided lifesaving care. Once at the hospital, medical staff continued lifesaving measures; however, he was not able to survive his injuries.

Detectives learned that Greenwood and his stepfather Smith were involved in an argument at the apartment. It was during this argument and physical fight that Greenwood pulled a gun and shot Smith.

Greenwood was booked into jail for 2-degree murder.
