
Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating the shooting death of 33-year-old Humberto Ortiz that happened at an early morning party.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on Saturday morning at about 4:20 a.m., officers were called to a house near 2800 North 48th Lane for a shooting call. When officers got to the scene, they found Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound. Ortiz was provided lifesaving care while Phoenix Fire personnel responded to continue the care. Ortiz was not able to survive his injuries and died on scene.
Detectives learned that Ortiz was shot by an unknown suspect who left the area prior to police responding.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the identity of the suspect to call into Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO
