12-Year-Old Arrested For Social Media Post Threatening Apache Junction Junior High School

On Tuesday, September 17th, the Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD) arrested a 12-year-old female student for posting a threat to Cactus Canyon Junior High on social media.

According to AJPD, once the information was relayed to officers, they immediately began conducting an investigation to identify the credibility and origin of the post. Thanks to numerous calls from concerned community members, AJPD was able to track the threat quickly and effectively.

The student, a resident of Apache Junction, was identified with the assistance of law enforcement partners.

The girl was interviewed and admitted to the threatening post.

The student has been charged with interfering with or disruption of an educational institution, a class 6 felony, and was booked into the Pinal County Youth Justice Center.
