Oro Valley

July 4
Oro Valley Fireworks

Keep the family entertained with live music, food trucks, a beer garden, kids crafts, lawn games and more in Oro Valley. The Oro Valley Aquatic Center will also have reduced admission rates from noon-5 p.m. to celebrate the holiday ($1 for children, $3 for adults). Free; bring money for food.

All-American Festival

Peoria’s All-American Festival will feature live music, outdoor games, BMX performances, food and beverage vendors, a sensory room in the Visitors Clubhouse and fireworks to end the evening. Free; VIP is $45 for age 3 and older. peoriaaz.gov.

  1. This holiday is not to celebrate a date on the calendar and a long weekend. It is to celebrate the courage of the founders of this nation to take extreme risks to secure the liberties that sadly, most of our generation take for granted. Let’s give this day the solemn respect it deserves, by calling it what it is, Independence Day, and stop disregarding its solemn meaning with the misnomer, “4th of July.” The words we choose matter.
