Jaywalker Dies After Early Morning Collision In Phoenix

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating an early morning collision that left a jaywalker dead.

According to the Phoenix Police department, on March 6, 2025, around 4:40 a.m., officers responded to the area of 37th Avenue and Buckeye Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located the adult male pedestrian with serious injuries. Life saving measures were attempted but the man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle involved remained on scene.

Detectives believe that the man was crossing Buckeye Road, mid-block, when he was struck by the vehicle involved, which was traveling westbound on the Buckeye Road.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision.
