East Valley Shooting Leaves Man Dead And His Brother In Jail

Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating an east valley shooting that claimed the life of a man.

On March 21, 2025, around 8:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of 46th Street and Calle Del Medio regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, identified as 51-year-old James Arthur Eaves, in the driveway of his home with at least one gunshot wound.  James did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

While on scene, a suspect was identified through various elements of evidence. The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Christopher Arthur Eaves, and was determined the be the brother of the victim. As this investigation was progressing, Christopher showed up to the scene with other family members, at which time he was arrested for the murder.

Homicide detectives responded to assume the investigation. An interview was attempted however Christopher refused to answer questions.  He is being booked for multiple charges to include murder.
