Phoenix Police Offering Reward For Information On Fatal Collision

The Phoenix Police Department is reaching out to the public and offering a reward of up to $2,000 for any information on a suspect involved in a fatal collision.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at approximately 4:45 p.m., a black Dodge Ram 4500 single cab wheel lift-style tow truck was driving westbound on Willetta Street when it failed to stop for the stop sign at 18th Street. Michael Ochoa was northbound on 18th Street on a small motorcycle and collided with the rear driver side of the tow truck.

Mr. Ochoa sustained serious injuries from which he later died at the hospital.

  1. Very sad. I hope the truck driver’s conscience gets the better of him and he does the right thing. For my fellow bikers, just remember that we will never win in a collision; we if we want to live we must yield to automobiles, right, wrong, or indifferent, and that we should never “trust” that a cager is paying attention or sees us. The laws of man may be broken or ignored, but the laws of physics are immutable.
