On Wednesday, Congressman Abraham Hamadeh (AZ-08) proudly announced that the U.S. Department of Justice has rejected the politically motivated and baseless “patterns and practice” report from a weaponized investigation by the Biden Administration into the Phoenix Police Department.

“Promise made. Promise kept,” said Congressman Hamadeh, whose aggressive advocacy for the men and women of the Phoenix Police Department included a meeting with top U.S. Department of Justice official Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon on Tuesday. “I promised our law enforcement officers before taking office that I would end the weaponization of our judicial system and work with President Trump’s Department of Justice to undo the damage wrought by the Biden Administration.”

Congressman Hamadeh also recently met with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel to discuss the Biden Administration’s targeted attacks on our men and women in blue.

Congressman Hamadeh thanked President Donald Trump and his remarkable team for rapidly heeding his call to end the Biden Administration’s malicious and oppressive oversight of local law enforcement agencies.

“I am grateful to President Trump and his team of patriotic professionals dedicated to the men and women of our local law enforcement agencies who run to the sound of danger to keep our communities safe and secure,” said Congressman Hamadeh.

“As I noted in my communications with Trump Administration officials, our officers did everything right, voluntarily cooperating in good faith, opening their records, and participating in lengthy interviews. They were met with stonewalling, mischaracterized testimony, and a final report riddled with glaring inaccuracies,” stated Congressman Hamadeh.

“The Trump Administration has now shown that it will not tolerate attacks on our law enforcement officers – either through physical violence or bureaucratic machinations,” said Congressman Hamadeh.

“Overbroad police consent decrees divest local control of policing from communities where it belongs, turning that power over to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats, often with an anti-police agenda,” added Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon. “Today, we are ending the Biden Civil Rights Division’s failed experiment of handcuffing local leaders and police departments with factually unjustified consent decrees.”

The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association (PPSLA) and the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) thanked Congressman Hamadeh for his tireless efforts on their members’ behalf:

“The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association (PPSLA) is grateful to Congressman Abe Hamadeh for keeping his promise to us. While we very much appreciate the support of everyone who advocated on our behalf, we know that Congressman Hamadeh took the fight to an important level. Today, justice was won for the residents we are sworn to protect and serve as well as our members,” said PPSLA President Ben Leuschner.

“We are grateful that both President Trump and Congressman Hamadeh stood with us against the Biden Administration’s DOJ’s flawed investigation of the Phoenix Police Department, which has already cost Phoenix taxpayers millions of dollars and had left a demoralized, shrinking police force,” concluded President Leuschner.

“As president of the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police, and on behalf of the entire membership, I want to thank Congressman Hamadeh for his unwavering support. We look forward to partnering with the Congressman in the future on our shared goal of keeping our communities safe,” said Arizona Fraternal Order of Police President Paul Sheldon.

  1. Didn’t this attack on the police department begin when Obama started attacking Joe Arpaio, falsely accusing him of racial profiling?

  2. Where was Greg Stanton during this federal shake-down? Abe gets justice as a frosh member of congress.

  3. Who’ let the dogs loose TRUMP TRUMP – TRUMP TRUMP!!! Remove the local leaders by VOTE! The AMERICAN WAY!!!! TRUMP TRUMP!!!

  4. These consent decrees by the Federal DOJ were used to make local police department as a quasi national police force. These were foisted upon them by made up charges. It is high time to end that practice. Any violations by the police force should be handled locally. Ultimately, voters should remove the city leaders that control the police force.

    • This. County investigates city, State investigates county, AG investigates State, legislature investigates AG, and if warranted the governor can request a federal investigation of State assets. You are 100% that Biden was trying to federalize all LE via federal intimidation. Not to put too fine a point on it, but _that_ sounds like Nationalsozialistische machinations.
