Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a collision that left a man dead.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 23, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of 35th Avenue and Griswold Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located the adult male pedestrian, identified as 46-year-old Rogelio Peregrino.
Peregrino was transported to a nearby hospital; however, he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The vehicle involved left the scene prior to police arrival.
Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information suggests Peregrino was in the northbound lanes of 35th Avenue when he was struck by the vehicle involved.
Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
