Phoenix Police detectives have identified the victim of a shooting on Saturday as 34-year-old Olivaz Tomas Cruz.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on June 14, 2025, around 8:47 pm, officers responded to the area of 15th Avenue and Woodland Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located Tomas Cruz with at least one gunshot wound.
Officers provided medical aid until the Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported Tomas Cruz to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. However, he did not survive his injuries and died at the hospital.
Homicide detectives believe two men approached the victim, and during an argument, the victim was shot. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip
