Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a shooting in a Central Phoenix Alley that left a man dead.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on June 18, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 17th Drive and Lane Avenue regarding an assault and shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male inside of a nearby alleyway with at least one gunshot wound.
The man was transported to a local hospital but did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
An adult male was detained on scene who admitted that he was involved in a fight with the victim which resulted in the victim being shot.
The man that was detained was released pending additional investigative measures.
