Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Investigate Murder Suicide In Cornville

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call from an elderly man only to respond to a tragic scene.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, just after noon on June 23rd, deputies were called out to a report that a 73-year-old man had shot his wife at their home in Cornville. He then stated he was planning on killing himself next. As deputies attempted to contact him, SWAT and the negotiating team were called out.

Unable to reach him, SWAT team members then entered the home. Tragically, both the male and his wife were discovered to be deceased. Initial investigation revealed that the man wanted to kill his wife and then himself due to their illnesses.
