Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a Central Phoenix shooting that claimed the life of a man.
On August 10, 2025 at around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of 15th Avenue and Highland Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, identified as 27-year-old Robert Schaezlein, inside of a nearby apartment with at least one gunshot wound. Schaezlein was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he did not survive and was pronounced deceased.
An adult female was detained on scene who admitted to being involved in the shooting.
Homicide detectives responded to assume the investigation. After being interviewed, the adult female was released pending additional investigation.
