On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at approximately 8:06 a.m., Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a subject shooting a firearm in the 600 Block of S. Avenue C.
During the initial investigation, deputies located multiple spent casings in the roadway and damage to an occupied residence. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) Criminal Investigation Bureau responded and assumed the investigation. A suspect was identified, and it was concluded the shooting took place from a residence toward a passing vehicle.
The suspect, Ronnie Quijada, 18, of Yuma, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on 3 counts of Endangerment, 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, Disorderly Conduct with Weapons, and Criminal Damage.
Investigators are working to identify additional victims in this case.
