Longtime left-wing activist Tyler Montague set X.com ablaze over the weekend when he appeared to wish for the death of President Donald Trump.
The self-described consultant and former sycophant of the late Sen. John McCain, who self-identifies as a Republican, posted a now-deleted message on X.com:
“Am I going to hell for praying for the Lord to take brother Trump back into his presence sooner than later?”
Montague has long been an advocate for illegal aliens and has opposed Republicans who support enforcement of the law. He often targets conservative Republicans through his Public Integrity Alliance group, although it was not clear if the Alliance endorsed his apparent death wish.
Reporter K. Brett Boswell immediately responded to Montague, “Not enough attention on a Saturday night?”

The comments grew more brutal from there ranging from “despicable” to “Yes, but not for wishing death on someone. You’re going to hell for all that other stuff you’ve done.”
Long-time Republican consultant, Nathan Sproul responded, “I’d delete this if I were you.”
Conservative political activist, Trevor Cook responded, “Your buddy @JeffFlake wouldn’t even pray for that. You should delete this.
Brian J. Symes, a political consultant for moderate Republicans responded, “You know that’s not good, right?”
One poster, identified only as Velcra wrote, “I’ll just sit here and wait for Karma to do it’s job, you sick fuck.”
Finally, after deleting his post, Montague wrote “I deleted this tweet because it’s not my way. I wish he weren’t president though. A good person wouldn’t ruthlessly tear immigrant families apart,” conflating legal immigrants who are not targeted at all with those in the country illegally.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, not only is it not targeting immigrant families, but according to the most recent reporting here and elsewhere, the Trump administration is returning children to their families that were separated by the Biden administration.
In 2024, Montague, described as “a political consultant with the Public Integrity Alliance and a LDS member,” told Newsweek that ‘while many members of the church will vote for Trump, a growing number will either leave their presidential vote blank or swing all the way to Harris.’
Montague, who is viewed as a “hit man” for the “establishment” or “Uniparty” in Arizona, has filed numerous complaints, including one in 2022 against a political action committee that spent $2.1 million to promote the gubernatorial campaign of former television anchor Kari Lake.
“Tyler Montague, a Republican political consultant who heads the Public Integrity Alliance, filed the complaint against Put Arizona First with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office, asking it to forward the matter to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for possible prosecution,” reported the Arizona Republic.
“Tyler’s hate and loathing for President Trump is clear,” wrote one Republican consultant. “Have you seen one of his latest X posts? ‘Dear Orange Leader…everyone loves you so much. We bow down daily to the large Chairman Mao-style banner of your face at our building.” He is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome of the worst kind. If I were Robson Taylor or any other Republican candidate, I would run from his support.”
