Ethics Complaint Filed Against Arizona Senator Accused Of Endangering ICE Agents

A formal ethics complaint has been filed against Senator Analise Ortiz accusing her of repeatedly attempting to undermine federal immigration enforcement operations in Arizona.

“Senator Ortiz’s actions were not only reckless – they were dangerous,” said Senator Jake
Hoffman after filing the complaint. “By publicly posting alerts about federal law enforcement activity, she actively tipped off individuals being pursued by ICE, jeopardizing the safety of officers and law-abiding citizens.”

The complaint details how Senator Ortiz used her official platform to broadcast real-time alerts about ICE activity, urging people to evade lawful enforcement operations.

When called out, says Hoffman, Ortiz “doubled down with inflammatory language, instead of showing accountability for endangering lives.”

“Every law enforcement officer deserves to go home safe at the end of their shift. Every Arizona family deserves to know their elected leaders are protecting them, not siding with lawlessness,” said Hoffman. “Senator Ortiz’s behavior crosses every line of ethics, professionalism, and basic decency. When an elected official openly undermines law enforcement, puts lives at risk, and erodes the rule of law, there must be accountability. The people of Arizona expect and deserve better.”

Senate Republicans are calling for Senator Ortiz to face expulsion or, at a minimum, significant disciplinary action.

The Senate Ethics Committee will now determine whether to proceed with a formal investigation and disciplinary action.

Senate Ethics Committee Chairwoman Shawnna Bolick has announced that she intends to take immediate action in response to a formal ethics complaint.

Because the complaint alleges that Senator Ortiz interfered with federal immigration enforcement operations in Arizona, Bolick will be sending a letter to refer the matter to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, as the allegations involve federal law enforcement and require investigation by the appropriate authorities.

“I take this complaint very seriously. Doxing federal ICE agents is not only reckless, it endangers lives and undermines the rule of law,” said Bolick. “The Senate Ethics Committee has not met this year, and before addressing the complaint, the committee must first adopt its operating rules. Once those rules are established, the committee will conduct a thorough review of the facts, strictly adhering to constitutional standards, as well as applicable state and local laws. I have distributed the complaint to all Committee members and Senator Ortiz in a single email to ensure full transparency. This is an issue I do not take lightly, and I am committed to ensuring that it is handled with the full weight of the law and the Constitution. Until then, the process remains with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, whose review will inform the committee’s next steps.”
