Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a shooting that left three men dead in a south Phoenix neighborhood.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on September 23, 2025, at around 9:09 p.m., officers responded to the area of 24th Street and Southern Avenue regarding a shooting. While enroute, officers located a two-vehicle collision in the area. A welfare check was conducted on the vehicles and officers located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside one of the vehicles.
A second call was placed from a restaurant nearby about an adult male outside the establishment suffering from a gunshot wound. One of the men stated that they had been shot at a residence in the area of 23rd Street and Lynne Lane. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the two men with gunshot wounds to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to the residence to conduct a welfare check and located two adult males deceased inside the residence from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers located another adult male in the alley, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers, along with the Special Assignments Unit (SAU), secured the residence and checked welfare on neighboring homes.
Homicide detectives believe two men, at least one of them armed with a weapon, entered the residence. The adult male victim shot one of the suspects, who hid in a separate room. The adult male victim heard a relative yelling for help when he ran back out and shot the second suspect. Detectives are still working to piece together this investigation and also identify how the victim in the alley was involved with this incident. Additional details related to this incident remain a part of the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call SILENT WITNESS at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
