Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a south Phoenix shooting that left three dead and another in the hospital.
According to Phoenix Police Sergeant Robert Scherer, on November 23, 2025, at around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of 39th Street and Beverly Road regarding a domestic violence call. As officers were responding the caller indicated that a man was shooting a gun from inside the home and that multiple people were shot. When officers arrived, they found an adult male, identified as 68-year-old George Chin Ku, and an adult female, identified as 64-year-old Scarlett Shiu-Mei Ku, suffering from at least one gunshot wound each and deceased inside of the home. In addition, two adult males, one of which is identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Jonathan Ku, were found inside both suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Both men were extracted from the home and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Jeremy did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other adult male victim transported suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Phoenix Police detectives believe that during a domestic violence incident between husband, George, and his wife Scarlett, George produced a firearm and shot Scarlett at least one time. George then fired his handgun in the direction of his son Jeremy and the other adult male inside of the home. After shooting both Jeremy and the other man, George turned the gun onto himself and ended his life.
