A 12-year-old girl is facing charges after threatening fellow students this morning at Westpark Elementary School.
According to the Buckeye Police Department, around 9:30 a.m. school officials reported a seventh-grade student had threatened to shoot other students. Officers responded to the school to investigate. Based on information gathered, Buckeye police will be submitting charges for threats and disorderly conduct.
The student also faces discipline at the school level. No firearm was located on campus.
The Buckeye Police Department applauded school staff for promptly notifying police so officers could quickly respond and ensure the safety of the school.

All threats should be taken seriously until they are deemed to be harmless, or at least not immediately executable, but “zero tolerance” policies and over criminalization do not serve anyone except career law enforcement bureaucrats with everything to gain and zero accountability for ruining people’s lives. Whether or not _this_ incident will be determined to be a serious matter or not, I can’t say, but I can say this family’s present and future life will be turned upside down and inside out, with collateral damages extending years if not decades if not perpetually into the future, and no one will be held to account if it was just a harmless child expressing frustration.
