An ongoing salmonella outbreak linked to raw oysters has sickened dozens of people in multiple states, including Arizona, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC reports that to date, 64 people across 22 states have gotten sick with the same strain of salmonella.
At least 20 people have been hospitalized without any immediate deaths being reported.
The agency said it is working to determine if a common source of the oysters can be identified. No recall has been announced at this time.
A map shows where the 64 people in this Salmonella outbreak lived.
This outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses, and the true number of sick people is likely much higher than the number reported. This is because many people recover without medical care and are not tested for Salmonella.
