Phoenix Detectives are investigating a crash involving two pedestrians leaving one man dead and another with serious injuries.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 6:51 a.m., officers responded to the area of 2800 West Buckeye Road regarding two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located an adult man with very serious, and another man with serious injuries. Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and transported both men to nearby hospitals. One man later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second man remains in the hospital. The car involved with this incident remained on scene and was cooperative.
Detectives believe both men attempted to cross the road mid-block not using a crosswalk when they were struck by the vehicle. The driver of the car was not showing signs of impairment and speed is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
