Phoenix Police are investigating a shooting death that occurred Saturday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 21, 2026, at around 9:44 p.m., officers were in the area of 16th Avenue and Buckeye Road when they heard several gunshots in the area. Officers circulated the area and located an adult male, later identified as Anthony Ray Vaughn, with at least one gunshot wound. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced Anthony deceased.
Detectives are still working on what led up to the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to call SILENT WITNESS at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
