The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the NAU Tune-Up meet on Friday at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, AZ.

Sophomore Ketch Sulpizio (Gila Ridge HS) tied the Pima Indoor school record in the Pole Vault as he converted on his second attempt at 4.75 meters (15-feet, 7-inches). He is tied with Reece Gardner, who also set the standard at 4.75 meters back in 2022. Sulpizio improved on his NJCAA Indoor national qualifier that was previously at 4.63 meters (15-2.25) set on Jan. 17.

Freshman Mason Richardson (Bisbee HS) earned a national qualifier in the Pole Vault after he cleared 4.45 meters (14-7.25) on his first attempt. He is No. 3 on the Pima Indoor all-time list.

In women’s competition, freshman Tyra Starkey (Casteel HS) improved on her national qualifier for the second time in the Pole Vault. Her vault of 3.25 meters (10-8) was also an Outdoor Season national qualifying standard. Starkey set her first qualifier at 3.05 meters (10-0) on Jan. 17 and improved to 3.10 meters (10-2) on Feb. 14. Her mark put her No. 5 on the Pima Indoor all-time list.

The Aztecs will host the Pima Indoor Multi’s Meet on Monday and Tuesday at the West Campus Aztec Track for their final meet of the Indoor regular season. Events begin at 3:00 p.m. on both days.
