A Seligman is in custody for a burglary, but not before he caused considerable damage to a local business.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, in January 2026, deputies responded to a burglary at a popular Seligman business. Investigators determined that approximately $3,000 in cash along with a few items of merchandise were stolen, and the suspect caused nearly $70,000 in damage to the store’s structure and inventory.
Following a thorough investigation, the suspect was identified as 19-year-old Jacob Tracy of Seligman. Tracy matched the description of the male captured on surveillance footage.
On March 16, 2026, deputies contacted and arrested Tracy. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of evidence linking him to the crime. Detectives learned that he was upset with the owner for firing a person close to him from the store.
He was booked into custody on charges of first-degree burglary, criminal damage, and theft.
