Agents from the Three Points Border Patrol Station have apprehended three Romanian illegal aliens near San Miguel, AZ, according to Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector.
All three Romanians are unlawfully present in the United States.
These arrests mark the second incident in one week involving Romanian illegal aliens with ties to transnational criminal organizations.
Record checks revealed one individual was watch listed for fraud and linked to transnational organized crime, another was positively identified for money laundering, human trafficking/smuggling, and ties to a Balkan Organized Crime Group, and the third for human trafficking/smuggling.
The Chief Agent says that this is “a stark reminder that dangerous criminals and members of transnational crime groups are among those illegally entering the United States.”
