Yuma Man Arrested for Death of 15-Year-Old Girl

During the early stages of this investigation, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) investigators identified Mark Alan Spadt, 52, of Yuma, as a person of interest in the death of the 15-year-old juvenile.

After extensive investigative work and evidence collection, Spadt was identified as the suspect.

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, at approximately 9:52 a.m., YCSO with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service and US Border Patrol, arrested Spadt in the 11300 block of S. Avenue 12E.

Spadt was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for 1st Degree Murder, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, custodial interference, and evidence tampering.

This case remains under investigation at this time and details regarding the juvenile’s death are not being released.
