Tucson –The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (2-0) earned its second straight shutout victory against an NJCAA Division I opponent on Tuesday.
The No. 7 ranked Aztecs scored four goals in the first half and went on to beat the Bighorns 7-0.
Freshman Mckenna Baker (Premier Prep) set the tone for the game in the 5th minute when she converted on a turnover for the score. She netted her second goal to put the Aztecs up 6-0 when she received a cross-pass from fellow freshman Ava Rayman (Cienega HS) in the 68th minute.
Rayman scored on a header in the 56th minute and assisted in sophomore Gabriela Mendoza’s (Tucson Magnet HS) goal in the 81st minute to help secure the win.
Sophomore Alyssa Allan scored two goals for the second straight game as she converted on her attempts in the 12th and 21st minutes to make it 4-0.
Sophomore Yajaira Cervantes (Tucson Magnet HS) finished the match with three cross-pass assists. She found freshman Emma Cazares (Salpointe Catholic HS) for her goal in the 10th minute and Allan on her back-to-back goals.
The Aztecs outshot the Bighorns for on-goal attempts 20-3. Sophomore Angelina Moraga (Sabino HS) closed it out with two saves in the first half while freshman Vanessa Ceja had one save in the second half.
