Phoenix Red Light Runner Killed In Collision

A man is dead after he apparently ran a red light on a Phoenix roadway.

According to the Phoenix Police Sergeant Chris Berrelleza, on October 1st, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m., officers and Phoenix Fire responded to reports of an accident with injuries at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road. Upon arrival, first responders found 31-year-old Luke Rolex Garcia inside his vehicle.

Garcia collided with another vehicle occupied by 2 adult women and an adult male, all of which were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe Garcia ran the red light which led to the collision. It is unknown if impairment was a factor.

This investigation remains open and ongoing.
