The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a local man for numerous charges, to include three counts of attempted first-degree murder, last week after investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred in the early morning hours on Thursday, May 18.
The shooting did not result in any injuries but investigators did find evidence of multiple apartments in the 2200 block of Las Brisas Way being struck by rounds. Multiple reports of gunshots in the area were received at about 3 a.m. on Thursday and SVPD major crimes detectives conducted interviews with witnesses and other leads that day.
Detectives identified 18-year-old Sierra Vista resident Tres Wick as a suspect and began surveillance of Wick that same day. They arrested Wick on Wilcox Drive near South Canyon Drive at about 7 p.m. on Thursday. Wick was found to be armed when taken into custody. A search warrant was later executed at a residence located in the 300 block of South Carmichael Avenue, where several additional weapons were recovered.
Wick was booked into Cochise County Jail on the following charges: three counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of drive-by shooting, four counts of discharging a firearm at a residential structure, eight counts of endangerment, and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Wick is being held on a $250,000 bond. The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
Wick was already under investigation for an armed confrontation that occurred in the Fry Townsite on Friday, May 12, shortly after midnight. Officers working nearby heard a gunshot in the area of North 5th Street. Subsequently, an investigation revealed that Wick was involved in the confrontation and had fired a pistol. For that incident, Wick was charged with felonious disorderly conduct with a firearm, discharging a firearm inside the city, and endangerment. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
