New International Association For Near Death Studies Sharing Group In Spanish

The International Association For Near Death Studies (IANDS) has recently started new sharing meetings in Spanish in Tucson. This is for people who have had, or are interested in topics related to, powerful personal experiences, sometimes called near-death or spiritually transformative experiences. Meetings are conducted in a supportive and respectful manner and will meet monthly on the fourth Thursday.

In 1975, a best-selling book, Life After Life, authored by Dr. Raymond Moody introduced the term “near-death experience” (NDE) to describe similar features found in a significant percentage of people that had physically died and been resuscitated; or in other cases, had been severely traumatized in a physically, or sometimes only in a psychologically, stressful manner that caused the phenomena reported in these experiences.

IANDS was founded when traditional medical journals would not publish the findings of professional researchers that confirmed these exceptional experiences were not simply the results of delirious disorders or side effects of trauma. IANDS has now published a peer-reviewed, academic Journal of Near-Death Studies for nearly 40 years. IANDS has also published educational materials for experiencers, for healthcare providers, and for people interested in learning more on these subjects. IANDS conducts annual conferences and has over 40 groups in the U.S. that meet to share and discuss this material. Now there is one in Spanish in Tucson.
