
PHOENIX — A woman driving the wrong way, Tameka Spence, was killed Sunday morning when her vehicle collided with a Phoenix light rail on 1st Avenue and Washington Street in downtown Phoenix.

According to Phoenix Police, the collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. when a vehicle traveling the wrong-way on Washington Street struck a light rail train traveling southbound on 1st Avenue.
The woman believed to be in her 30s, was driving a Nissan Sentra in the wrong direction on Washington when she collided with a light rail train. The impact of the collision caused the train to derail and a light pole was knocked down.
Investigators believe the speed of the car was a factor in the crash.
