Glendale – A routine traffic stop turned interesting last week when a Glendale Police Department K9 sniffed out $800,000 in cash in duffel bag.

According to Glendale Police, officers stopped a vehicle that was speeding around midday on January 23 near 47th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

In a Facebook post, Glendale Police wrote: K9 Marley was called to the traffic stop for a “free air sniff” ? K9 Marley alerted on a large duffel bag in the backseat containing over $800,000 in bulk currency ?

Police have not identified the driver of the vehicle at this time.
