Scottsdale Police Arrest Women Accused Of Stealing Special Needs Victim’s Wallet

Paradise Adams and Pearl Mitchell, both 18, have been arrested for their involvement in conning a special-needs victim into giving them his wallet on September 25, 2022.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the theft occurred while the victim was working at a Fry’s near Shea Boulevard and 90th St. Adams was arrested on Friday, October 7th, and Mitchell was arrested on Friday, October 14th.

While the victim was working at the Fry’s on September 25th, he was approached in the parking lot by Adams and Mitchell. Without using any force, they convince the victim to exchange his wallet for a nonworking iPhone that Adams had. The pair kept the wallet and later use the victim debit card to make unauthorized transactions of over $700.

Using available surveillance video and other investigative means, according to the Scottsdale Police Department, detectives identified Adams and Mitchell from the initial incident. Through extensive investigative efforts and follow up, including 8 different search warrants, detectives were able to find and arrest both suspects in Phoenix. During the investigation, detectives found out that Adams and Mitchell knew the victim was special needs before they contacted him in the parking lot
