Phoenix Police Department detectives are looking for video evidence of a large gunfight that resulted in the death of a woman and a teen male in the hospital.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on March 30, 2025, around 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in a neighborhood near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road. As officers were arriving, a large group of people were seeing running and driving off from a large house party. Officers found a woman, later identified as 21-year-old Amanda Franco, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. The fire department responded to assess Franco, however, she died from her injuries on scene. Officers searched the area and spoke to several witnesses, but no individuals were arrested. They also found multiple homes and vehicles struck by gunfire. Officers later received word a juvenile male was brought to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound suffered at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Investigators processed the scene, spoke to witnesses and searched for video evidence. Preliminary information suggests the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred at the house party where it erupted outside, in front of the home. Multiple individuals exchanged in gunfire, resulting in over 300 shell casing found throughout the area.

Detectives believe there are more individuals out there who possibly captured video footage of the incident and possibly moments before the shooting occurred. The Department is asking those individuals to come forward and share that footage with investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to call Phoenix police or Silent Witness, if they wish to remain anonymous.
