
A Phoenix man is facing homicide charges after stabbing his male roommate to death.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 2, 2025, around 11:45 am, officers were called to an unknown trouble in a neighborhood near 35th Street and Campo Bello Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 73-year-old Jack Olsen, lying on the floor of his home with multiple stab wounds.
A witness told officers the suspect, 38-year-old Daniel Kohls, was responsible for the stabbing and left the area on foot.
Officers searched the area and later found Kohls at a nearby park where he was taken into custody. The fire department responded and determined Olsen died from his injuries on scene.
Homicide investigators interviewed Kohls where he provided statements linking him to the stabbing. He was later booked on murder charges.
