
Phoenix Police Department officers responding to a stabbing scene south of downtown Phoenix located and arrested a man accused of stabbing and killing 35-year-old Stephanie Barr.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at about 7:32 p.m., on Saturday night, officers were called to a stabbing incident in the area of 2400 South Central Avenue. As officers arrived at the scene, they found 35-year-old Stephanie Barr suffering
from a stab wound. She was taken to the hospital; however, was not able to overcome her injuries and died.
Patrol officers began searching the nearby area and located 53-year-old William Washington who was taken into custody without incident.
Homicide detectives learned Washington was in an argument with another male when he pulled out a knife. Barr attempted to separate the two and was stabbed by Washington during the altercation.
Washington was arrested and booked into jail for 2nd degree murder.
