Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a second fatal collision this week involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on the evening of October 20th, around 7:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash near 51st Avenue and West McDowell Road. When officers arrived, they located an adult man, later identified as Chad Bratcher who had life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by Phoenix Fire personnel, where he did not survive his injuries and died.
The driver of the pick-up truck that hit him stayed at the scene.
Detectives believe that Bratcher was crossing West McDowell Road mid-block when he was hit by a truck driving westbound. At this time, impairment does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
