Another jaywalker is dead after being struck by a vehicle.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of 37th Avenue and Thomas Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male in critical condition.
The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
Detectives believe the male pedestrian was crossing north across Thomas Road, not using a crosswalk, when he was struck by the vehicle. Additional information indicates the man was also struck by two additional vehicles, which did not stop and remain at the scene.
The driver who remained at the scene was evaluated for impairment; however, no signs of impairment were observed.
