Michael Abel Dominguez has been indicted for nine charges involving crimes at a local mosque.

On March 7th, Dominguez fired a paint and pellet gun at people outside the Islamic Center of North Phoenix. No one was injured, but rounds did strike cars at the mosque. Victims followed Dominguez’s car to obtain a license plate number and at that time Dominguez fired more rounds.

A grand jury indicted Dominguez on the following charges:

  • Six counts of Aggravated Assault, a Class Three Felony
  • One count of Possession or Use of Narcotic Drugs, a Class Four Felony
  • One count of Possession or Use of Dangerous Drugs, a Class Four Felony
  • One count of Aggravated Criminal Damage, a Class Six Felony
  • “There is no justification—ever—for violence or hate directed at places of worship. They must remain safe and protected,” said County Attorney Mitchell.
