With nearly all ballots tabulated by Maricopa County following Scottsdale’s July 21 Primary Election, Scottsdale voters have returned one incumbent to the City Council, while the remaining two council seats will be decided in the Nov. 3 General Election.
Eight candidates sought election for three available City Council seats. Under the Scottsdale City Charter, candidates may be elected outright in the Primary Election if they receive the required number of votes.
Based on the current election results, incumbent Solange Whitehead has been reelected to the Scottsdale City Council and will begin a new term in January 2027.
The remaining two council seats will be decided in the Nov. 3 General Election. The four candidates receiving the next highest number of votes in the Primary Election will advance to the general election. Based on the current results, Barry Graham, Bob Littlefield, Michelle Ugenti-Rita and Raoul Zubia will appear on the November ballot. The two candidates receiving the most votes in the General Election will be elected to the remaining council seats and take office in January 2027.
Final election results will be certified after Maricopa County completes its canvass. The Scottsdale City Council is scheduled to canvass the election results at its Aug. 3 City Council meeting.
