A man identified as Traquan Munson has been arrested after a stabbing outside Phoenix restaurant left a 29-year-old man dead. The 25-year-old Munson was arrested without incident and booked into jail on a single count of second-degree murder.
According to Sergeant John Buchanan of the Phoenix Police Department, around 11:51 p.m., officers responded to the area of 24th Avenue and Thomas Road regarding a reported stabbing. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male, later identified as 29-year-old Lonnie Shepherd Jr., lying on the ground outside of a restaurant with at least one wound.
The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported Shepherd to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives believe Munson and Shepherd were involved in an alteration near the restaurant.
