Arizona Race Between Biden, Trump Narrows

PHOENIX — Arizona officials and pollsters say there is much more counting to be done and the trend is going President Trump’s direction. On Thursday, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Maricopa County, the largest county in the state, released additional election results, narrowing Joe Biden’s lead.

The ballots processed in Maricopa County consisted of early ballots that were not mailed back but instead dropped off by voters to voting centers on Election Day.

It is estimated that President Trump needs approximately 56 percent of the remaining ballots to have been cast in his favor to take the state. Trump surprised ballot counters by performing above expectations in Pima County, a Democratic Party stronghold.

Governor Doug Ducey and other Republican Party leaders remain steadfast in their belief that the President will take the state. Contrary to media reports, the Governor’s Office denies any disagreement between Ducey and Trump.

Election officials report that approximately 362,000 ballots remain to be counted in Maricopa County.
