TUCSON – While the U.S. residents are shut in their homes, human smugglers on the U.S. Mexico border remain busy.

Last week, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 34 illegal aliens in two immigration related vehicle stops near Douglas.

Agents also seized one vehicle and recovery a stolen vehicle.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents patrolling near Douglas performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that appeared to have a fraudulent license plate and was reported stolen. All 18 occupants in the vehicle, including the driver were Mexican Nationals illegally present in the United States.

While agents were conducting the first traffic stop, they noticed a Lincoln Navigator driving past them that potentially contained additional illegal aliens. A second traffic stop was conducted on the Navigator, revealing an additional 16 illegal aliens being smuggled.
