Fatal Accident On Arizona Farms Road

The collision on Arizona Farms Road Friday night resulted in one fatality. It appears that just before 5 p.m., a two vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of westbound Arizona Farms Road and Apollo Drive. The collision involved a full sized Dodge truck and a mid-sized Toyota passenger car. The Dodge truck rear-ended the Toyota sedan. The result of the collision left three occupants of the car injured and one 2 year old male child deceased. The driver of the truck received minor injuries. He is a 31-year-old resident of San Tan Valley.

The mother and two other children were flown to an area trauma center with severe injuries. The pick-up truck driver was injured, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

The roadway was closed from Hunt Highway and Attaway road for several hours. It was reopened at about 1 a.m. Saturday. There was another vehicle and occupants contacted as part of this investigation, however, the Sheriff’s Department is not able to release any more details at this point. Pinal County Sheriff’s Department will provide updates as to cause of the collision, and update any medical conditions as they are able to do so.
