UofA prof, CFO posts his abuse of Chick-fil-A staff on YouTube

Smith resigns job in wake of Chick-fil-A drive thru abuse

An adjunct professor at the University of Arizona taped what appeared to almost be a scene out of a stalker movie on YouTube as part of his protest against Chick-fil-A. Adam M. Smith, adjunct and corporate CFO, filmed his excited anticipation of his planned verbal assault on the drive-thru window attendant.

After waiting in the long drive-thru line, created in a show of support for Chick-fil-A, the angry Smith attacked the attendant, identified as Rachel. Smith did not ask to speak to a member of management. Instead, he aimed his abuse toward an hourly wage earner, asking her how she could live with herself.

Smith had ordered only water from the restaurant in an attempt to “take a little bit of money from Chick-fil-A” so “less money gets to hate groups.” Smith proceeded to harass the attendee asking how she managed to live with herself.

Rachel advised Smith throughout his rant that she, as an employee of Chick-fil-A, was happy to serve all customers.

In response, Adam said that he is “totally heterosexual” without “a gay in me” who believes that Chick-fil-A is “a horrible corporation with horrible values.”

Smith lost his job yesterday when the video went viral. His employer, Vante issued a statement: “Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
