Giffords delivers miracle to DNC, recites Pledge

A day after the Obama administration tried unsuccessfully to keep God out of the Democratic Party platform, one of His (God’s) miracles took to the stage of the convention. Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords delivered the Pledge of Allegiance at the Democratic Convention tonight. There were few dry eyes in the house.

Although the Democrats have exploited the Congresswoman for the purposes of limiting gun ownership rights, and to demonize conservatives, she remains a symbol of American optimism. Her performance tonight epitomized America’s resiliency, and determination.

The Congresswoman was shot, along with others, while meeting with her constituents at one of her “Congress on Your Corner” events. The shooting by a deranged young man, was described by political opportunist, Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, as a political act. However, Loughner was a deranged young man with no clear political leanings or ideology.

Giffords delivered the pledge with a broad smile and great enthusiasm. As she was escorted off stage she blew kisses to the cheering crowd, which honored her with a long standing ovation.

The Democratic Party was forced to put God back in the party’s platform after the visual from the floor Wednesday afternoon when a large and loud group of delegates shouted “no” Wednesday as the convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, called for the vote on the platform. He ignored the boos and said the platform had passed.

The 2012 platform language the administration was pushing was: “We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth — the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

In 2008, the platform read: 2008 platform. It now says: “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

“The administration was forced to put God back in, but one way or another, He wasn’t going away. They might walk away from Him, but He isn’t going to walk away from them” said one Democrat.
