Latinos applaud SB1070 ruling

The Arizona Latino Republican Association reacted with praise for the ruling handed down yesterday by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on SB1070. This legal decision will allow for the implementation of the central piece of Arizona’s landmark legislation, SB1070. Despite the efforts of leftists and illegal immigrant apologists to malign the widely supported “Show me your papers” clause, Governor Brewer’s Office proved that this law will not allow or encourage racial profiling.

Despite this legal ruling, many open borders and illegal immigrant activists will continue to attempt to tie immigration law enforcement with xenophobia and racism. However, we congratulate Governor Brewer and the Arizona Legislature as they had the collective bravery to stand up to their angry and race baiting leftist detractors to ensure that the rule of law prevails in this state and that the citizens of Arizona are not made to feel like hostages in their own home.

It is unfortunate that while Arizona’s Republican leadership saw to the defense of its citizens, the Obama Administration occupied itself with multiple legal attacks on our state. Attorney General Holder went after us because our Republican leadership could no longer tolerate the lawlessness and chaos Washington had created with decades of unwillingness to enforce immigration laws.

Although ALRA congratulates Governor Brewer and the Arizona Legislature on this legal victory, we still have a problem as long as we continue to suffer from a President that refuses to work with our local law enforcement agencies. So long as we are burdened by a White House that won’t reinstate our 287(g) agreement, Arizona will continue to be at the mercy of individuals bent on maintaining the chaos and violence associated with illegal immigration. This November, the people of Arizona will have one more opportunity to show the enemies of our state such as Raul “Boycott Arizona” Grijalva and Barack “Sue Arizona first ask questions later” Obama that we want to live in a state and a country where the rule of law prevails.
